Poetry, like many artforms, is a signpost pointing the way to something which lies beyond itself. It is a map into your depths where words generally find little purchase and, like many books, is greatly influenced by when and how you read it. Most of this book, but not all, is written in lyrical form which when read correctly will enliven the text with a songlike quality. This book contains a number of poems that lean towards the romantic but as a whole, these writings tend to go into the deeper places of the human experience and evoke meaningful contemplations about who or what we are. It looks at the walls we build and how the turmoil of life can help break them down. Every word in this book is a signpost meant to take the reader deeper into their own experience and hopefully spur the imagination of the readers inner explorer. - Daniel Aaron Stuart |
